NC Sustainable Energy Association Community Initiative Award

At the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association's annual Making Energy Work conference in October 2015, O2 emc was awarded the Community Initiative Award for the Montgomery Solar Construction Event.  We hosted a groundbreaking at our 20 MW solar site in construction in Biscoe, NC on July 20th.  Republican US Senator Richard Burr and NC Senators Jerry Tillman and Stan Bingham all spoke in favor of solar energy for the jobs it creates, the investment it brings to rural counties, and its role in stabilizing the price of energy. Representatives Allen McNeill and Jamie Boles also attended.  According to NCSEA, the reason O2 emc received the award was that the representatives' role in the event demonstrated the bipartisan support for clean energy.
